Trichophyton species
A slow to moderately-growing fungus that produces a white, yellowish, rose, or brownish colony within fourteen days, when incubated at 25oC (77oF). It has worldwide distribution and can be isolated from the soil. They are capable of invading human and animal skin, hair, and nails causing Aringworm@ and Aathlete=s foot@.
